The Metrobank Card Conversion Program

As we continue to improve your banking experience and stay true to our commitment to offer you better-suited products that fits your lifestyle, you will be converted to another Metrobank Credit Card based on your profile with the bank.

Attached is the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for the program for reference.


ABOUT THE METROBANK CARD CONVERSION PROGRAM:
The Metrobank Card Conversion program is a bank initiated Program targeted to qualified cardholders of the following credit card variants:

  • Metrobank Femme Signature Visa
  • Metrobank Femme Visa Classic
  • Metrobank Vantage Visa
  • Metrobank Vantage Mastercard
  • Metrobank M-Lite Mastercard
  • Metrobank NCCC Mastercard
  • Metrobank Puregold Green & Gold Cards
  • Metrobank Rewards Plus Visa
  • Metrobank Titanium Mastercard
  • Metrobank Platinum Mastercard

The recommended credit card variant will be decided based on the usage of your current credit card, and has an exact fit from the following credit card variants:

  • Metrobank Titanium Mastercard
  • Metrobank Rewards Plus Visa
  • Metrobank Platinum Mastercard
  • Metrobank Travel Signature Visa
  • Metrobank World Mastercard


IMPORTANT CHANGES IN THE ACCOUNT:

1. What will remain the same in your account upon the Card Conversion process?

a. Reward Points – The rewards points balance earned from your Active Credit Card will be transferred to the New Credit Card upon conversion except:
- For credit cards that will be converted to Metrobank Platinum Mastercard, Metrobank World Mastercard & Metrobank Travel Signature Visa, the rewards points earned will be adjusted and reflected on the new credit card, aligned with the applicable rewards conversion rate of the new card variant.

b. Statement Date - The Statement Date will follow your old card.

c. Assigned Credit Limit - The credit limit assigned to the new credit card will be the same as the credit limit of your old credit card.

d. Bills2Pay Enrollment - All merchants enrolled through Bills2Pay will be re-enrolled automatically to the new credit card. Make sure to activate the new credit card in order to avoid rejection of payments on your enrolled Bills2Pay billers.

e. Outstanding Balances - All outstanding balances and monthly installments charged to the old credit card will automatically be transferred to the new credit card.

f. Supplementary Cards - All existing Supplementary Cards will also be qualified for the card conversion and will be processed automatically together with the new principal card.


2. What are the important changes in your account upon the Card Conversion process?

a. Credit Card Annual Fee – Enjoy waived annual fee on the first year. In order to enjoy perpetually waived annual fee yearly, you must reach the required spend using the new credit card.
- Waived Annual Fee for Life Benefit (selected cardholders only) – This benefit will be carried over only if the card conversion request is initiated by the bank.

b. Third-Party Enrollments/Subscriptions - For payment arrangements enrolled directly through third-party merchants (e.g. non-Bill2Pay billers, Insurance, Gym Subscriptions, etc.) and online platforms (e.g. Spotify, Netflix, Amazon, etc.), you must re-enroll using the new credit card number to avoid service interruption.

c. Finance Charges - All finance fees & charges will remain the same across all Metrobank credit card variants, except for the Retail Monthly Interest Rate/Finance Charge for M-Lite Mastercard:

d. Old Credit Card Deactivation – The old credit card can still be used until the new credit card has been delivered and activated by the cardholder. Deactivation of the old credit card will be triggered once the new card has been activated by the cardholder through the official Metrobank activation channels: Metrobank App, Customer Service Hotline and SMS.

e. Enrollment on Metrobank Application (MBOA) - The cardholder must re-enroll the new card number of the new credit card to the Metrobank Online App.


3. What are the change in benefits if my card gets converted?

The Metrobank Classic Cards only earns Php 20 = 1 reward point without any category reward multipliers. With the Card Conversion Program, you can now also earn 2x to 3x point on categories that you love to spend on! Plus, you can now enjoy other benefits:

*Rebates are capped at PHP 1,000/monthly
World Mastercard
· 3x Rewards Points on Foreign Currency Spend
· Unlimited Local Lounge Access
· 1.85% Transaction Fee on Foreign Currency Spend
Travel Signature Visa
· 1 air mile per PHP 30 spend on all categories
· Unlimited Local Lounge Access
· 1.68% Transaction Fee on Foreign Currency Spend

4. Who are eligible only for the Card Conversion Program?

All active cardholders under these Metrobank Credit Cards:

  • Metrobank Femme Signature Visa
  • Metrobank Femme Visa Classic
  • Metrobank Vantage Visa (formerly Metrobank Visa Classic)
  • Metrobank Vantage Mastercard (formerly Metrobank Mastercard Classic)
  • Metrobank M-Lite Mastercard
  • Metrobank NCCC Mastercard
  • Metrobank Puregold Green & Gold Cards
  • Metrobank Rewards Plus Visa
  • Metrobank Titanium Mastercard
  • Metrobank Platinum Mastercard

5. Who are not part of the Card Conversion Program?

The following cardholders are excluded from the Card Conversion Program:

  • Cardholders who do not own any of the stated Metrobank Credit Card variants listed in FAQ #4
  • Cardholders of the stated Metrobank Credit Card variants in delinquent status
  • Cardholders of the stated Metrobank Credit Card variants that have been converted prior the direct communications of the bank for card conversion.

6. When will I receive the notice of the Card Conversion Program?

All eligible customers will receive an official communication through their registered mobile number and email address 30 days prior to the bank’s official card process.


7. What will happen to my old credit card upon the delivery of the new card?

Once the new credit card has been delivered, you must activate the new credit card through the Metrobank App, through SMS, or through the Self-Service option in our Customer Service Hotline.

Once the new credit card has been activated, the old credit card shall be triggered to be deactivated and you must properly dispose the old credit card.

Please note: Do not throw your old credit card if you haven’t received & activated yet the new credit card.


8. What is the turnaround time of the delivery of my new credit card?

Delivery to Metro Manila addresses will be between 5-7 banking days and 10-15 banking days for Provincial addresses from card creation date.


9. What are the ways to activate my new credit card?

If you are new to the Metrobank App:
a. Download the new Metrobank App in Google Store or Apple Store.
b. Sign up on the app using your new credit card number.
c. Go to the Dashboard and tap "Activate Card". Input your Metrobank passcode to confirm activation.

If you already have the Metrobank App:
a. Login to the Metrobank App, then tap the three stacked-lines on the upper left corner of the Dashboard.
b. Go to My Account. At the lower right corner, tap "Enroll". Enter the card number of the new credit card.
c. Go to the Dashboard and tap "Activate Card". Input your Metrobank passcode to confirm activation.

Activate your new card through the Self Service option in our Customer Service Hotline:
a. Dial 88-700-700 (88-700-707 for Platinum Mastercard, World Mastercard & Travel Signature Visa)
b. Choose Option 1: Credit Card
c. Choose Option 1: Credit Card Services
d. Choose Option 4: Activation

Alternative, you may activate through SMS - Text ACT 16 digit credit card number of the new credit card, then send to 225622.


10. What if I wanted a different credit card or opt out from the Card Conversion Program?

11. What if I wanted to cancel my card?

We understand that circumstances may change, and we're here to assist you with any requests you have regarding your credit card.
