Complimentary Travel Insurance Coverage
Eligibility
To avail of the complimentary travel insurance benefit, the Cardholder must charge his / her airfare spend to the Metrobank Travel Signature Visa card.

Effectivity
Cardholders are covered for unlimited trips, with each trip eligible for coverage of up to 50 consecutive days. Coverage extends to the spouse and up to two children, provided they are traveling with the cardholder.
Coverage Start: Begins when the cardholder leaves their residence or workplace in the Philippines, but not earlier than 3 hours before the scheduled departure.
Coverage End: Whichever occurs first:
3 hours after arrival at the final destination (as per itinerary)
Expiry of the insurance period (as stated in the policy)
Return to the cardholder’s residence or workplace in the Philippines

Your Metrobank card comes with a complimentary travel insurance. To enjoy free coverage under this program, the Cardholder consents to the sharing between Metrobank to AXA Philippines Life and General Insurance Corporation (AXA) of the Cardholder's personal data, including first name, last name, middle name, birthdate, gender, residential or permanent address, email address, and contact number. Metrobank and AXA will process Cardholder's personal data in accordance with their respective data privacy policies and pursuant to the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

Claims must be submitted directly to AXA by the customer or their family, along with the completed claim form and required supporting documents. AXA will review and process the claim accordingly.
The complimentary travel insurance benefit is not convertible to cash, credit, or other goods and services.
All questions or disputes regarding the cardholder’s eligibility for or availment of the complimentary travel insurance shall be resolved by Metrobank. The decision of Metrobank shall be considered as final.
Metrobank may at any time vary, modify, delete or amend, in whole or in part, these Terms and Conditions. Such modifications and amendments shall be effective on such date or dates as determined solely by Metrobank and with prior notice to Cardholders. In addition, Metrobank reserves the right at any time in its sole discretion, with notice to Cardholders, to revoke or terminate the Complimentary Travel Insurance Program.
In case any portion of these Terms and Conditions is declared invalid or unenforceable, the portions not otherwise affected shall remain valid and enforceable.
By availing of the Complimentary Travel Insurance Program, the Cardholder confirms that he/she has read, understood and agreed to the Metrobank Credit Card Terms & Conditions and these Travel Insurance Terms and Conditions.
Who are qualified for the complimentary travel insurance?

When does the insurance coverage take effect?

Is a Travel Signature Visa that has been cancelled or converted to another Metrobank credit card still eligible for free travel insurance?
No. Eligibility for the complimentary Travel Signature Visa travel insurance benefit is limited to active Metrobank Travel Signature Visa cardholders only.
Are children covered under the Travel Signature Visa travel insurance?
Yes. Coverage extends to the spouse and up to two (2) dependent children, provided they are traveling with the cardholder. Child coverage is subject to the following conditions:

No. Coverage is on a per trip basis; therefore, only up to two (2) dependent children may be covered per trip.
Scenario 5
Mr. X’s supplementary cardholder (who is his child, Mr. Y) already has children. Are the supplementary cardholder’s children covered? Yes.

How can I request a Certificate of Coverage (COC)?
You may request a COC by contacting AXA’s Customer Care. Requests must be made at least 5 business days prior to your trip.
Can I use my complimentary travel insurance for Schengen visa application?
No. Schengen visa requirements include medical travel insurance coverage worth at least €30,000 (approx. Php 2.1M).
