Metrobank updates eSavings with no maintaining balance

Metrobank has removed the maintaining balance requirement for its eSavings account, making it easier for accountholders to keep saving without worrying about their account falling below the required balance. 

Designed for everyday convenience, this update comes at a time when many Filipinos are navigating rising costs. One of the biggest psychological barriers to saving is the fear of getting charged when your balance drops below the required amount. By removing that pressure, customers can keep their account active and continue building their savings even during tight months.

Removing the maintaining balance requirement gives them more flexibility to manage their money, especially at a time when everyday expenses continue to rise. First-time Metrobank deposit clients can easily open an eSavings account through the Metrobank App using just one valid ID. The account also comes with four free monthly InstaPay transfers through rebates, supporting everyday transactions such as sending money to family, paying for services, or managing shared expenses. 

By removing the maintaining balance, saving becomes less of a rigid monthly commitment and more of a series of small, intentional decisions. It recognizes that building a savings habit takes time—there are months when you can set money aside, and times when expenses take priority. The eSavings account gives people the flexibility to save when they can, and access their money when they need to.
