A smarter, cleaner, and stronger banknote for Filipinos

The First Philippine Polymer (FPP) Banknote Series is here, and it brings a fresh, more practical way to handle your money. Issued by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), these new banknotes are smarter, cleaner, and stronger than traditional paper money—offering real benefits for your everyday transactions.

Here’s what you need to know and how it benefits you:

Smarter:

The new polymer banknotes come with advanced security features, making them harder to counterfeit. With raised prints, clear windows, and intricate designs, these banknotes are easier to verify and more secure, giving you peace of mind every time you use them.

Cleaner

Polymer banknotes don’t absorb dirt, oil, or water, making them much easier to keep clean. Plus, the Department of Health (DOH) confirms that viruses and bacteria survive for a shorter time on polymer notes than on paper, helping reduce your exposure to germs.

Stronger

The materials used for the new banknotes are stronger than paper, allowing them to withstand the wear and tear of everyday use and saving you from frequent replacements.
