The low Foreign Currency (FX) Service Fee of 1.68% is now a permanent feature of the Metrobank Travel Signature Visa card starting November 20, 2025.
This benefit is available to all existing and newly-approved Metrobank Travel Signature Visa principal and supplementary cardholders (the “Cardholder”) in good credit standing. "Good credit standing" means accounts that are not delinquent, not under investigation for fraud, not reported lost or stolen, and in compliance with the Metrobank Credit Cards Terms and Conditions.
To enjoy this benefit, Cardholders should use their Metrobank Travel Signature Visa for in-store and/or online foreign currency transactions and choose to have the transactions processed or billed in foreign currency other than Philippine Peso.
Foreign currency transactions processed or billed in Philippine Peso at point of sale, whether executed in the Philippines, overseas, or online, shall not be eligible for the reduced FX fee.
All eligible foreign currency transactions will reflect a total FX service fee of 1.68%, broken down as follows:
- 1% Cross Border Service Fee – covers costs incurred to process payments through the Visa Network, acquiring bank, and/or foreign merchant affiliates.
- 0.68% Forex Processing Fee – covers Metrobank’s internal processing costs for foreign currency transactions.
- 1% Cross Border Service Fee – covers costs incurred to process payments through the Visa Network, acquiring bank, and/or foreign merchant affiliates.
This Program is subject to the Metrobank Credit Card Terms and Conditions.
Metrobank reserves the right to suspend, cancel or modify the program as deemed necessary with prior notice in a manner Metrobank deems appropriate, without prejudice to approved applications prior thereto.
Metrobank reserves the right to disqualify any Cardholder from further participation in this program if the Cardholder defaults in his payment or, if in Metrobank’s judgement, the said Cardholder defaults in his payment, or if in Metrobank’s judgement, the said Cardholder has violated these Terms and Conditions and/or the Metrobank Credit Card Terms and Conditions, and Metrobank’s Foreign Exchange program.
By joining or availing of this Program, the Cardholder confirms that he/she has read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
