In celebration of Metrobank’s 58th anniversary, Metrobankers nationwide decided to skip their traditional anniversary meal allowance and instead donate it for a greater cause. Over 14,000 Metrobankers gathered as one community to raise the donation amount of PhP 2,358,158.58 for the benefit of communities identified to have been hardest hit by the pandemic.
Born out of malasakit and a meaningful “anniversary challenge”, Metrobank and the Metrobank Foundation boosted this employee initiated donation with an additional PhP 1,000,000.00, which form part of the PhP2,000,000.00 grant that the Metrobank Foundation pledged in the Anniversary Grants Turnover Ceremony. This employee donation drive will be able to feed more than 67,000 individuals through the Kindness Kitchens of the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
The total donation amounting to PhP 3,358,158.58 was formally turned over to McDonald’s Philippines Managing Director and RMHC Vice President Margot Torres and RMHC Executive Director Marie Angeles. The virtual turnover ceremony was led by Metrobank Executives namely, Metrobank Foundation President Aniceto Sobrepeña, Human Resources & Management Group Heads Vivian Tiu and Gerboy Ortega, Chief Marketing Officer Digs Dimagiba, and Operations Group Head Bob Murga. Representatives from the bank’s Corporate Affairs, HR, and the Metrobank Foundation witnessed the turnover.
