Tips

Protect yourself against account takeover scams

  1. Examine the sender of any SMS or email from Metrobank and make sure that it is an official Metrobank sender. Do NOT click on any links that are shortened using 'bitly' or 'rebrandly'. Scammers use these to try and make links look legitimate. Metrobank does NOT use these link shorteners.

  2. Type in the full URL address on your browser to be sure that you are going to the official site. Or use the official app.

  3. Metrobank will not initiate an SMS, call, or email to ask you to verify or update your account and personal details through a link. Check with your branch or call our Metrobank Contact Center at (02) 88-700-700 should you receive messages like these. Don't be fooled even if they say your account is on hold or suspended.

  4. Remember: Use a unique and strong password for your online or mobile app. DO not reuse passwords registered on another app or online service. Make it a habit to change your password at least every 3 months for extra protection.
